CLAY coating

TERRACHROM clay coating is a clay based decorative coating  for interior surfaces, which creates a finely textured, velvety matte finish. 

Clay coating can be used in thick layers to smooth rough interior surfaces surfaces. To prevent the coating from shrinking as it dries, apply it with a stainless-steel trowel for a smooth, refined finish. Due to its breathability, the product is particularly suited to alter uneven surfaces in the application of lime-based finishes from the Terrachrom line.

CLAY coating is available in the following colours (details below) or can be tinted with our mineral pigment to achieve a custom creations 

Preparing your surface: For previously painted surfaces, it is recommended to prepare the surface with TEXTURED base coat product before applying CLAY coating

Preparing & Mixing the CLAY coating: If adding pigment, add the dry pigment directly into the bucket. Dry mix the pigment with the clay powder until the components are mixed thoroughly. Add 30 to 35% clean water into the bucket and mix with a low-speed blender for a few minutes until a homogeneous dough is obtained. Prepare the product 1/2 hour before application.

Applying CLAY coating to your prepared surface: Apply using a stainless-steel trowel in two layers. Let each layer dry for 8-12 hours.
