Terrachrom LIME PAINT is the perfect finish for brick, to give a new look to your façade, your fireplace or brick walls inside home. It develops a patina over time, creating a unique finish like the old houses of Europe. Lime paint finish is breathable and high UV-resistant, and long lasting.
It will last approximately five years. After five years, the color remains but may begin to patina from climatic conditions which yields a beautiful weathered finish that can last decades

With LIME PAINT
Lime plasters have the ability to wick away moisture. Lime is a material that absorbs humidity and gradually diffuses it to the exterior. This makes weathered walls more resistant. It can be likened to a sponge, absorbing water vapors.
Brick and limewash paint: an effective marriage
Absorption and Breathability
The porous nature of brick allows for effective absorption of lime paint. This absorption ensures a strong chemical bond between the lime and the brick, enhancing the durability of the finish. Additionally, the breathability of lime paint perfectly aligns with the properties of brick, allowing the walls to naturally regulate humidity.
Moisture Prevention
Lime paint allows moisture to evaporate through brick walls, reducing the risks of condensation and mold. This property is particularly beneficial in humid environments or regions where temperature fluctuations can cause moisture problems.
Weather Resistance: Outdoors, lime paint forms a protective layer that resists weather conditions while allowing the walls to breathe. This characteristic protects the bricks from water damage and temperature variations, thereby extending the lifespan of facades.
Ease of Maintenance: Lime paint ages gracefully and can be easily touched up. If needed, a new layer of lime can be applied directly over the old one without requiring extensive stripping or preparation.Bas du formulaire
Easy application
It is applied easily, as a single layer can create authentic limewash finish. No need to apply a primer on unpainted, absorbent brick, stone or other masonry surfaces. Just clean and dampen your masonry before painting.
If the bricks/stones are previously painted/treated (with a product other than lime), we recommend using our TEXTURED lime primer before applying LIME PAINT. Both products are suitable for exterior/interior brick/stone.
As the paint will not appear fully opaque initially, it is important to wait for the paint to be fully dry before assessing its final color and opacity. Unlike other paints, limewash penetrates the surface and the color & opacity can be built up by applying successive coats. Limewash creates a very durable finish that will not peel or chip off over time.
Easy removal
LIME PAINT can be wiped/brushed or washed off with water (or a vinegar & water solution) immediately after application. With the use of a pressure washer, the entire application can be removed up to 2 days following the initial application.
Opaque or light
Light look
LIME PAINT gives an opaque finish. If you wish to expose some of the brick or stone, start wiping/washing off some of the limewash when it is still wet (you then decide how much to wipe off), approximately 30 minutes after application, depending on climatic conditions. Start removing earlier if exposed to sun and high temperatures.
Opaque look
If you prefer a matte mineral lightly textured and opaque finish, you will have to apply 2 coats for a better result.
TIPS for application
As long as the paint is applied during proper weather - 3 days without rain, a minimum of 1 week before or after the last frost and appropriate temperatures for application (between 7°C and 27°C (45°F and 80°F)).
Clean up with soap and water will not damage surrounding vegetation.
