The story of Terrachrom began with a meeting of cultures and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and natural materials. During a trip to Northern Europe, Sophie, Terrachrom’s founder, met her future husband, a Frenchman, whose family introduced her to the world of natural paints and coatings. Inspired by the artistry and depth of colour in these traditional products, she recognized their potential value for North American homes and designers.
Motivated by this discovery, Sophie founded Terrachrom to make high-quality, natural paints and pigments more accessible in North America. She envisioned a product line that combines beauty, sustainability, and respect for health and the environment.
Today, Terrachrom works closely with European partners to source its full range of natural powdered paints and pigments from France, Spain, Italy, and Germany. All products are stored, prepared, and shipped from within Canada, ensuring reliable year-round delivery and responsive local service.
Many of the pigments, such as ochres and natural earths, are produced using time-honoured methods that reflect the enduring relationship between colour, craft, and nature. The Terrachrom team continues to share their expertise in working with these materials, helping customers create authentic, expressive finishes that bridge European tradition and contemporary design.
