Pearlescent Mica Pigments

Mica powder is a versatile pigment made from finely ground mica — a naturally shiny silicate mineral coated with natural or synthetic oxides such as iron oxide, titanium dioxide, or ultramarine. It adds colour and pearlescent effects to a wide variety of materials.

Pearlescent mica pigments produce a shimmering, metallic-like finish similar to traditional aluminum or bronze powders, but are easier to use, more economical, and compatible with all types of binders.

They are ideal for creating unique decorative effects projects for arts and craft, DIY home and decor, industrial and functional uses.

Here are some ways you can use our pearlescent mica pigments in your next artistic project.

  • Epoxy resin art: Adds metallic or pearlescent shimmer to resin for jewelry, river tables, coasters, keychains, etc.
  • Acrylic or oil painting: Mixed into paints for metallic finishes or iridescent highlights.
  • Polymer clay: Adds shimmer or colour before or after baking.
  • Slime: Popular for adding sparkle and iridescence to DIY slime.
  • Paper crafts: Used in embossing, calligraphy ink, or handmade paper for a pearly look.
  • Candle making: Stir into melted wax to create a shimmering effect. Ideal for decorative candles — avoid overusing, as too much pigment may clog the wick.
  • Wall paint or furniture: Mix into paint, plaster or varnish for a subtle metallic or pearl effect.
  • Automotive paint & powder coating: Creates pearlescent or colour-shifting car finishes.
  • Plastics & rubber: Used as a filler to improve durability and heat resistance.
  • Ceramics & glass glazes: Adds reflective or iridescent properties.
